Digital Skills Short Term Training
The demand for digital skills training is surging, as more jobs now require these skills and digitalization creates new roles. Digital capabilities have become crucial for the competitiveness and innovation of companies. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated this transformation.
Existing education providers must align their offerings to meet this growing demand. Traditional providers can stay relevant by partnering with dedicated digital skills providers to keep pace with technological changes.
This unmet demand presents a significant business opportunity for local, regional, and global training providers, requiring partnerships across the education ecosystem.
Our project addresses this unmet demand by equipping young people from universities and businesses with market-oriented digital skills. This initiative aims to increase employability and provide businesses with the skills needed to harness the benefits of digitalization, enhancing their competitiveness and innovation.
Since 2022, we have trained 264 employees and 176 university staff. In 2024, we launched the second phase of our short-term training program, aiming to train over 500 young people, business employees, and university staff.
The curriculum and modules for these trainings are carefully curated by our project implementing partners, the private sector, and academia, ensuring the relevance of the topics to the beneficiaries and their institutions. These trainings align with the East African Community (EAC) development strategy, highlighting the importance of leveraging ICT to drive socio-economic development and regional integration.
