Digital Skills for an Innovative East African Industry (dSkills@EA)

About the project

Building on the success of its predecessor, the CENIT@EA project, the East African Community (EAC) project, Digital Skills for an Innovative East African Industry (dSkills@EA), continues to enhance the quality and sustainability of the Master’s Programme “Embedded and Mobile Systems” (MSc EMoS) through close collaboration with the private sector.

Project Objective:

Our goal is to strengthen the employment and innovation-related digital skills of young people in the East African Community Partner States.

Our Initiatives:

  • MSc EMoS Programme: We are further improving the quality of the EMoS master’s programme by involving the private sector, ensuring our graduates are industry-ready and planning for the sustainability of the CENIT@EA.
  • Boosting Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Our project aims to elevate the digital innovation and entrepreneurship capacities of young East African students and graduates through a regional network of innovation hubs, multi-stakeholder dialogues, and matchmaking mechanisms with companies.
  • Demand driven short term digital skills training: We offer short courses on advanced digital skills for various target groups, including unemployed graduates, private and public sector employees, and university staff. These trainings complement the two-year MSc EMoS programme at CENIT@EA and is designed to reach a much wider audience in the region.
