Our Centre of Excellence for Information and Communication Technology in East Africa is committed to providing top-notch education and training in ICT. We offer a wide variety of courses to satisfy the demands of professionals, businesses, and students across the East African partner states seeking to succeed in the digital era. CENIT@EA provides the right nurturing and accelerating environment, preparing them to become digital pioneers and drive the digital transformation in the region.
Since 2019, over 148 students have enrolled for the master program in Embedded and Mobile Systems (MSc EMoS) EMoS programme and over 129 scholarships awarded of which 37% went to female students. To date, over 72 students have graduated from the programme with over 80 industrial solutions developed.
Master of Science in Embedded & Mobile Systems
The applied master program in Embedded and Mobile Systems (MSc EMoS), taught at CENIT@EA, was developed by a German and East African academic consortium and is the first of its kind in East Africa. Hosted at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha, Tanzania, CENIT@EA provides students with:

Digital skills training & entrepreneurship
CENIT@EA is committed to advance digital skills and entrepreneurship capabilities in East Africa. Our mission is to empower students, graduates and universities through comprehensive training and innovative programs that bridge the digital divide and foster economic growth in the region.
Anchored on the regional initiatives of the Digital Skills for an Innovative East African Industry – dSkills@EA project, demand-led trainings are offered in key subjects of digital transformation such as cybersecurity, data science and predictive business analytics.
Young people are given the skills necessary to become entrepreneurs and job creators through bootcamps, hackathons, and national and regional pitch competitions. Meanwhile, university training programmes are bolstering the transfer of technology from the classroom into real-world applications to best compete in the rapidly evolving digital landscape
